Ms. Harrington practiced law in Blair County, Pennsylvania for 20 years with the firm of McIntyre, Hartye, Schmitt & Sosnowski. Her focus was personal injury insurance defense litigation in medical malpractice, auto law, premises law, and Workers’ Compensation. She has tried cases in the Court of Common Pleas in several Pennsylvania counties and argued appeals to the Commonwealth Court, Superior Court, and Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. She also worked on insurance coverage cases and subrogation matters and taught classes as part of Penn State Altoona’s Paralegal curriculum.
In 2010 Ms. Harrington joined her family business and became an approved McDonald’s franchisee. To obtain that approval, she worked in the restaurants and took instruction on business management culmination in her graduation from Hamburger University on the Dean’s List. She and her husband owned a franchise located in Blair and Huntingdon Counties. She was the primary administrator of the business in charge of payroll, accounts payable, financial reporting, HR, and representing the franchise at McDonald’s meeting and on various committees, including the Women’s Operator Network. During this time, Ms. Harrington continued her legal training through required seminars, switching the focus to employment law matters. She also represented her company in Unemployment Claims.
In May 2023, Ms. Harrington joined the Quinn Firm, now focusing on education law but continuing to be involved in litigation and appeal matters, as needed. Her experience in the retail quick service industry gives her a unique ability to analyze issues from various angles and she can give her clients real world counsel in these areas.
